The Army

by Anton Mirto

Conceived as a desire to stand up, stay awake & survive, The Army is a call to be brave in an age that promotes fear; an ongoing practice against apathy & for healing, purpose & power.

The Army is an ongoing call to be brave in an age that promotes fear... against apathy, for healing, purpose & power. In 2016, Mirto began exploring the choreographic language of marching drills, warrior rituals & breath to practice fearlessness, presence, unity & strength.

Between 2016-2018 the marching rituals have taken place in over 36 'secret' public outdoor spaces in London, as well as set performances at The Yard Theatre, and The Whitechapel Gallery.
